Academic degree / Prerequisites: Minimum GPA of 2.3 out of 3.0 on the official MEXT scale (approx 3.2+/4.0 GPA)
English language proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 85+
Standardized testing (GRE/GMAT): Recommended for quantitative fields
Thesis / Research statement: Formal MEXT field of study and research program outline
Recommendation letters: Two letters of recommendation from academic deans or professors
