Thesis and research components

The Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine's MS in Biomedical Sciences curriculum contains a minimum of 32.5 credits: 18.5 core, nine thesis and five elective credits. Students work with an advisor and advisory committee on an individual plan, with areas such as anatomy, biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology or physiology.

This is not the same offering as ATSU's separate online Arizona biomedical sciences degree, nor does MS admission automatically lead to a medical doctorate.

Research and funding limitations

A thesis is a formal program requirement, not evidence of a guaranteed research assistant salary. Tuition and aid must be confirmed on current enrollment pages. Non-eligible international applicants should investigate another ATSU program with an explicitly stated foreign-student policy rather than submitting an unsupported KCOM application.
