OpenFieldHfBK Dresden STIBET and DAAD support
The university administers DAAD-funded STIBET awards for eligible enrolled international students and doctoral candidates. These awards should not be mistaken for automatic entry scholarships.
Which funding types exist?
Degree-completion support: the university describes support for students and doctoral candidates with good academic progress who are expected to complete within a year and need assistance to finish.
International engagement support: scholarships recognize strong academic progress alongside notable intercultural or international engagement at the university.
Equal opportunity: the university also describes a funding category for students with particular barriers, including refugees, disability, chronic illness or significant caregiving responsibilities. The exact terms depend on the current call.
DAAD Prize: a separate €1,000 award recognizes outstanding enrolled international students or doctoral candidates with academic achievement and social or intercultural engagement. It is a prize, not recurring monthly support.
Eligibility and applications
STIBET generally requires regular enrollment in a degree program at HfBK Dresden, including Diploma, Meisterschüler or doctoral study. Exchange students should not assume eligibility. The university provides current application notices and forms in the downloads section of its funding page; 2026 calls are listed there, but a future application deadline or award amount was not independently confirmed in this review.
- Confirm enrollment status and which STIBET funding type applies.
- Open the university's latest 2026 call and download its current form.
- Review evidence of academic performance, engagement or financial need, depending on the category.
- Check restrictions on concurrent scholarship funding before submission.

Not an open funded PhD vacancy
These are student-support mechanisms. The university's right to award doctorates does not mean that all doctoral applicants receive a salary or stipend. Confirm doctoral acceptance and financing independently.
Verification and editorial note
This is an independent source-reviewed guide, not a university application service or a guarantee of admission, supervision, funding or an open vacancy. Official German-language announcements control when translations disagree. Check the official page immediately before applying.
