Academic overview & excellence

Founded in 1974, Universität Osnabrück has developed an international reputation for crossing disciplinary boundaries. The university spans nine schools: Educational & Cultural Studies; Physics; Biology/Chemistry; Mathematics/Computer Science; Language & Literary Studies; Human Sciences; Law; Business Administration & Economics; and the internationally acclaimed Institute of Cognitive Science. Osnabrück was the first university in Germany to establish a complete undergraduate through doctoral curriculum in Cognitive Science.

Research admissions & criteria

Admission to undergraduate bachelor's programs requires the German Abitur or foreign university entrance credential validated by uni-assist. International master's programs in Cognitive Science, Nanosciences, and Mathematics require a distinguished bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Cognitive Science requires English proficiency of CEFR C1 (IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 100).
