Academic overview & excellence

Operating from the historic city center campus of Utrecht University, the UUMUN Academy provides world-class leadership, public speaking, multilateral negotiation, and foreign policy research training. Selected through a rigorous nationwide assessment process, the annual delegation engages in intensive weekly policy simulations, rhetoric masterclasses, and diplomatic missions to embassies in The Hague, Brussels, and Geneva. Fellows produce policy briefing memos on international security, humanitarian law, and global sustainability.

Research admissions & criteria

Admission to the UUMUN Academy is highly competitive and open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at Utrecht University. The selection process comprises three competitive rounds: an initial application portfolio (including academic transcripts, CV, and a policy essay), an intensive group negotiation simulation, and an individual interview with former ambassadors and alumni.
