Academic overview & excellence

Established as an autonomous state university in 1999, UniFg has grown rapidly into a center of scientific excellence in southern Italy. It comprises six primary academic departments: Agriculture, Food, Natural Resources and Engineering (DAFNE); Clinical and Experimental Medicine; Medical and Surgical Sciences; Law; Economics; and Humanities. The university leads cutting-edge research in precision smart farming, functional foods, cardiovascular surgery, and digital learning methodologies.

Research admissions & criteria

Admission to Laurea Triennale programs requires an Italian Diploma di Maturità or an equivalent international 12-year secondary school credential. Medical degree (Laurea Magistrale a Ciclo Unico in Medicina e Chirurgia) admissions are strictly governed by the national MUR test. Master's (Laurea Magistrale) courses require a recognized bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Non-EU applicants must apply via Universitaly and demonstrate Italian B2 or English B2 depending on program language.
